Workforce Housing Tax Credit: Earlier this week, Representatives Mike Carey (R-Ohio-15) and Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.-19) introduced the Workforce Housing Tax Credit Act, legislation that would expand the supply of housing available to moderate-income households struggling with the rising cost of housing. Read more

Deeper Dive: “Across communities nationwide, housing affordability is the defining issue for many Americans and their families – particularly the middle-income workers that keep our cities and towns running,” said NAA President and CEO Bob Pinnegar in a joint statement. “This important legislation would directly incentivize the construction of workforce housing, in turn increasing supply and lowering costs.”

What We're Hearing

Eviction Moratorium: “Haines is among more than 1,500 property owners who filed a federal lawsuit arguing the moratorium enacted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention violated the Fifth Amendment by unlawfully denying them compensation. Plaintiffs range from those who lost thousands of dollars to one who lost over $14.5 million.” (The Associated Press).
