What We're Doing

FTC Withdraws Appeals Over Non-Compete Rule: In Ryan, LLC v. FTC and Properties of the Villages v. FTC, the Federal Trade Commission voted 3–1 to withdraw its appeals concerning its Non-Compete Rule. Although a federal ban is off the table for now, the FTC is still pursuing businesses that use unlawful non-compete agreements. Read more on what this means for the industry. 

What We're Hearing

State of Housing Market: “Congress is on the brink of creating a new housing market disruption, as lawmakers careen toward a government funding train wreck that appears likely to cause a shutdown. The National Flood Insurance Program, which millions of homeowners use to protect against costs from storm damage to their properties, is set to lapse along with government funding after midnight Wednesday.” (POLITICO

Tariffs: “In a move that will raise housing costs, the U.S. Commerce Department today imposed a 10% tariff on all timber and lumber imports and an additional 25% tariff on kitchen cabinets and furniture after announcing that it found that imports of these materials and products pose a national security risk.” (National Association of Home Builders)
